Indian design education, indeed all education will always be a me too laggard trying to play catch-up as long as it copies other models from elsewhere and tries to transplant them here. Copying something means that you will never be better than the original because the vision isn't yours, can never be. Having said that, many individuals in India, from all walks of life are charting fresh paths and doing stuff that is truly unique and fired by an energy that comes from our mileu.
I think that things are definitely getting better and our grandchildren will truly come into a forward looking impetus with their own brand of confidence and ability that no one here can begin to imagine.
